Commercial & OEM Licensing

Build tcpcat into your product — without the copyleft

1tcpcat is dual-licensed

tcpcat's public version is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0). You can use, study, modify, and self-host it freely. But the AGPL is copyleft: if you distribute tcpcat, or offer it to others over a network, you must release the complete corresponding source of your product under the AGPL too.

The commercial (OEM) license lifts that obligation, so you can embed tcpcat in a proprietary product or hosted service without open-sourcing your own code.

2Which one do you need?

Free under AGPL-3.0

Personal use, study, and research. A company running tcpcat on its own or its clients' authorized networks. Any project you're happy to release under the AGPL.

Needs a commercial license

Embedding tcpcat in a product, appliance, container image, or VM you sell. Offering it as a hosted/managed service without publishing your source. Reselling or bundling it in a paid product.
